VELOCEX 100: MAXIMUM PRODUCTIVITY AND PRECISION IN GERMANY

Hereunder, all the details about the latest installation of a Velocex 100 in Germany for an important company specialized in solutions for timber harvesting and processing.

The installations of our high-speed circular sawing machines continue and this time we are in Germany, where a Velocex 100 has been recently installed thanks to the collaboration between Mep and one of our German dealers.

The customer in question is a company that enjoys international reputation and specializes in the design and manufacture of high-quality machines and equipment for timber harvesting and processing. The wide range of products offered ranges from timber trailers and logging grapples to circular sawing machines, splitters and conveyor belts.

The customer needed to replace an old band sawing machine to both improve the quality of cut finishing and ensure constant availability of pieces to be processed in the workshops. For this reason, it decided to contact its trusted dealer who, in turn, turned to our company in order to find a solution that would meet the customer's needs.

The first step was to analyze in detail the production needs of the company and it was found that it had the need to cut rounds and solids with a diameter of up to 100 mm. On the one hand, as regards the type and condition of the material, it is low carbon steel, rolled, peeled or black; on the other hand, as regards the required cutting length, it ranges from a minimum value of 30 mm to a maximum value of 1500 mm. In addition, the customer needed to make trim cuts with an initial material length of 6000 mm.

Based on these needs, we decided to offer the company one of our models of high-speed automatic circular sawing machines for large-scale production, namely the Velocex 100. As a matter of fact, this machine is the perfect solution for those who need to perform 0° cuts on solid bars of diameter of up to 100 mm. Among the main highlights of this sawing machine we can find:

- Carbide tipped circular saw blade for high production, excellent finishing and accuracy in lenghts.

- Bar feeder double clamping system with single stroke of 1000 mm repeatable to cut to any length and sliding on ball screw linear guides through brushless motor and ball screw nut, thus granting the utmost accuracy.

- The automatic back sliding of bar feeder at the end of each cut avoids the contact of the bar with the circular blade while going backwards to the upper position, thus preserving the surface of the material and hard metal teeth of the circular blade.

- The two position swinging guide to unload pieces automatically separates trims and remnants from production pieces, thus optimizing the production process.

In addition to the sawing machine, the customer decided to purchase some options such as fume extractor, tele service and, in order to further optimize its production process, automatic bar loader with hydraulic lifting and 2-m motorized discharger that can slide to separate remnants and trims. The customer has also agreed with our dealer a complete maintenance program of the installed system in order to maintain the acquired advantages over time.

Thanks to the purchase of the sawing machine and its accessories, the customer managed to obtain a significant increase in production and, at the same time, to guarantee the maximum precision of the cut surface and the length of the piece. To demonstrate this, during testing with the customer following the installation, the same batch that the old sawing machine produced in a week was cut in one morning!
