ATEX Variable Frequency Drives (not only ATEX motors and ATEX gearboxes)
NEO and NANO motive variable frequency drives, for single phase and three phase motors up to 22kW, have been certified ATEX for zones 21 and 22, Cat. 2 and 3, Dust, all groups A, B and C
Motive Variable Frequency Drives NANO Ex and NEO-Ex differ from standard NANO and NEO because they are designed to be used, like motive "Ex" gearboxes and "Ex motors", in the ATEX zones 21 and 22, Categories 2 and 3, Groups A, B and C, Dust
Cat Zone description
2 21 A place in which an explosive atmosphere in the form of a cloud of combustible dust in air is likely to occur in normal operation occasionally.
3 22 A place in which an explosive atmosphere in the form of a cloud of combustible dust in air is not likely to occur in normal operation but, if it does occur, will persist for a short period only.
NANO Ex and NEO-Ex are in fact certified for such zones according to the norms IEC 60079-0:2011 - EN 60079-31:2014 by a notified body
