The new range of norelem chain tensioners

three sizes, maximum flexibility, and precise tension

Thanks to a variety of sizes, tensioning force options, robust materials, mounting tools, and retensioning capabilities, norelem’s new range of chain tensioners perfectly meets virtually all mechanical engineering requirements—from applications with very limited installation space to those involving heavy-duty chains.

Chain tensioners are used in a wide range of machinery and systems. Their primary function is to compensate for the gradual elongation of the chain caused by wear, ensuring constant tension. This extends the chain's service life and improves the reliability of the chain drive.

norelem chain tensioners operate with a free-swinging, elastic action; they prevent excessive surface pressure while optimally controlling the total force resulting from chain weight and centrifugal force on the slack side. Installation is simple and is ideally performed immediately downstream of the drive sprocket to minimize the slack side as much as possible. The tensioner housings are available in plastic or steel; stainless steel versions are also available for extreme operating conditions. The sliding pads are made of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (PE-UHMW).

norelem offers solutions for virtually every type of tensioning application.
The robust TS model comes standard with a plastic-coated, galvanized steel housing and is available with an optional curved or elliptical profile. The tensioning system features two pre-loaded compression springs. These can be released individually to provide three levels of tensioning force:
• Only the right spring released: high tensioning force
• Only the left spring released: low tensioning force
• Both springs released: extra-high tensioning force

The compact Size 0 is available in two versions—offering two different clamping forces: low spring force (58–32 N) or high spring force (132–60 N). Thanks to its compact design, this tensioning system is ideal for tight installation spaces, and its plastic housing ensures it is completely corrosion-free.
The versatile Size 1 chain tensioners come in two tension force versions and two shapes: light spring force (174–32 N), increased spring force (396–60 N), Shape A (short housing), and Shape B (long housing).
Available options include a color-coded scale for quick visual monitoring of chain tension, as well as various mounting brackets and slotted holes that facilitate easy readjustment and misalignment compensation.
