OPTIMUS solutions for public address, voice alarm, and professional sound in a landmark facility.

*OPTIMUS COMPACT System at the Oviedo Sports Palace*

The renovation of the Oviedo Sports Palace has completely transformed this iconic venue into a first-class multipurpose facility. As part of this project, led by construction company San José with installation by ADOBER Electricidad, OPTIMUS supplied the public address and voice alarm system based on the EN 54-certified COMPACT series. This system, essential for safe evacuation in the event of an emergency, covers all public and service areas of the venue with 329 loudspeakers strategically distributed throughout the building.

OPTIMUS was also involved in the design and supply of the professional sound equipment covering the arena and seating areas, with a capacity of up to 9,000 spectators. The high-performance system was specially tailored to the needs of such a venue, capable of delivering immersive audio experiences for both sports events and live performances.

*Effective communication and professional sound for a multi-purpose venue*

The highlight of the installation is the 40 high-power line array loudspeakers (500 W RMS / 2000 W peak), arranged in adjustable clusters to ensure even sound coverage across the entire space. These speakers, with wide frequency response, can deliver sound pressure levels of up to 132 dB at one metre, ensuring clear and powerful sound reaches every corner of the venue.

To enhance low-frequency performance, 12 high-powered subwoofers (1200 W RMS / 4800 W peak) have been added, essential for faithfully reproducing the full dynamics of live music and sound effects. The entire system is driven by eight power amplifiers rated at 4 x 2400 W RMS, and managed by advanced DSP processors that allow equalisation, filtering, delays, and dynamic sound control.

This combination of power, control, and acoustic precision makes the new Oviedo Sports Palace a national benchmark in sound quality and adaptability to diverse event formats.

At the same time, the COMPACT voice alarm and PA system ensures the safety of attendees and staff in the event of an emergency. EN 54 certified, it enables the effective broadcast of evacuation messages under any circumstances, with zoned control via DT-700ETH microphone stations, remote music programme distribution through MI2-700ETH interfaces, DA-500D2 and DA-500D4 power amplifiers, and CP40-MP3BT music sources.
