Italy and Spain conquered the podium of BIOL Prize 2017, the international competition dedicated to the best organic extra virgin olive oils.

The 22nd edition of BIOL Prize took place in Ostuni from 18th to 20th March. More than 350 olive oils from all over the world took part in the competition whose podium was gained by two Italian companies and a Spanish one.

The Italian Quattrociocchi located in Alatri (Lazio region) won the first prize with its extra virgin olive oil “Olivastro”; Franci in Tuscany won the second prize with its “Franci Bio” and Finca la Torre from Andalusia in third place with “Finca La Torre Hojblanca selection”. One-step away from the podium we find “Mimì Coratina” produced by Donato Conserva in Apulia.

These last three producers are Pieralisi customers.

“We have had an extraordinary olive oil, both in the Mediterranean and in Italy – says Mr. Marasciulo, Biol panel head – proof that those who know how to cultivate also win over the climatic adversities”. “In addition – continues Nino Paparella, BIOL Prize coordinator – despite the difficult year we have had 350 members and many new entries, sign of the growing recognition of the award at international level".

Great satisfaction for Pieralisi Group that continues to offer the best technology in the whole transformation process of the olive oil, establishing itself once again the undisputed leader in the worldwide olive oil machinery sector.
