Pietro Carnaghi model AP100, with 10 m turning dia. and 2 rams for turning and milling
The structure of the machine is a “formation” having the columns mounted to the table base, housing the main spindle and gearbox.
All these elements are assembled together in order to constitute a tough structure ensuring maximum stability and rigidity, to withstand the most severe cutting conditions.
On the front side of the cross rail are two horizontal sliding guides support the vertical ram saddle in its horizontal movement (through hydrostatic pockets). The distance between the superior and the inferior guide way is dimensioned to ensure the maximum cutting performance.
All the machine structures are designed with the finite elements analysis methodology (FEM) and the main frames are subjected to thermal stabilization and treatment processes.
