Inductive encoder for short-stroke absolute linear position measurement, ideal for integration in a linear direct drive

POSIC launches the miniature linear absolute encoder kit AP9200L, which provides the absolute position in SSI format over a range of 38 mm with a resolution of 0.02 um and a maximum speed up to 15 m/s. The highly miniaturized encoder measures only 20 x 20 x 3.5 mm. With a scale thickness of 0.9 mm, the overall profile height is below 5 mm.

Due to its Eddy-current sensing principle, the encoder is robust against dust, particles, oil, grease, liquids and it is even immune against magnetic fields. This means that it can be integrated inside a linear direct drive without any magnetic shielding.

The encoder can be ordered factory-programmed or it can be programmed by the user after it has been assembled in the application. Target markets include amongst others robotics, industrial automation, semiconductor equipment, linear direct drives and voice coil motors.
