As the logical next step after the release of the MULTITOP USB card reader series, ProxTech is now presenting 2 very nicely designed USB pen readers.

These USB pen readers form a practical and modern alternative to the standard desktop RFID card readers and can easily be used in a wide variety of applications.

Conceived with an ultimate eye on state-of-the-art performances, combined with ultra-modern design, the USB_PEN RFID readers offer many features to allow a maximal performance and flexibility.

Amongst those many features are a standard USB 2.0 interface in HID mode (keyboard emulation) with 5V power supply over this USB interface, the possibility to do a firmware upgrade, a multitude of supported RFID technologies such as Mifare, LEGIC, NFC, …

Optionally the USB_PEN can be supplied with a virtual COM port interface, a PC/SC interface, or even in transparent mode offering direct access to the integrated RFID core chip. This last functionality allows you to create your very own firmware exactly to your own specific requirements.

These readers and modules support a large number of different RFID types on 13.56 MHz, including all major RFID technologies such as NFC, Mifare Classic and DESFire, Legic Prime and Advant; HID iClass, Tag-It, Felica, ISO14443A/B, ISO15693, and many more…

User-configurable or preconfigured

The standard version of the reader simply outputs the serial number or UID code of the transponder in either a decimal or hexadecimal code.

In case a different setup is required, the reader can be ordered pre-configured according to the specs of the user. Shortly we will also be releasing a handy and easy-to-use configuration software tool.

NFC for the highest security standard

When a higher security standard is needed for the data transmission, NFC offers the optimal solution. Available for Mifare NFC or Legic NFC, these readers are the best solution around for cashless payment applications such as public transportation, restaurants, etc.

Clean and slim housing for easy integration with other equipment

The USB_PEN readers are supplied in a clean and slim-line design housing. Connection is done either via a standard USB 2.0, a micro USB or as USB dongle with pigtail cable. For integration purposes, the reader can also be supplied as PCB only.
