Revtech offers a natural and chemical-free alternative to traditional ethylene oxide (ETO) treatments for sesame seeds, helping processors improve food safety while preserving product quality. The technology uses a continuous combination of heat and a small amount of steam to significantly reduce microbial contamination, including validated 5-log reduction of pathogens such as Salmonella and E. coli.
Unlike chemical fumigation methods, Revtech’s process is suitable for both conventional and organic sesame seeds and does not leave harmful residues. The system preserves the natural taste, aroma, color, and nutritional properties of the seeds thanks to precise temperature control and short residence times.
The same continuous equipment can also be used for roasting applications, from light to dark roasting profiles, while maintaining consistent product quality. Fully automated and customizable, Revtech systems are designed for industrial capacities ranging from 100 kg/h to several tons per hour.
