Flexible shaft for automotive applications

Flexible shafts are used in the automobile industry due to their flexibility and reliability. They are installed, for example, to adjust the vehicle seats, headlamps and windows, sunroof or spoiler but also to raise and lower blinds and electrical convertible roofs or motorised steering wheel adjustment.

The flexible shaft can be used in conjunction with a crank or pushbutton to ensure that the driver is distracted as little as possible from the traffic situation and enjoys the maximum degree of comfort. Being maintenance and wear-free, the flexible shaft carries out its task reliably for the entire service life of a vehicle regardless of whether it is manually or motor-driven. Thousands of load changes, hot summers and cold winters do not affect a perfectly designed flexible shaft. Stainless steel shaft cores even withstand corrosive, environmental conditions without any problems.
