Flexible shafts

Flexible shafts are used, for example:

- in the automobile industry for adjusting headlights, vehicle seats, windows, sliding roofs, hatchbacks and door locks.

- in the aerospace industry for adjusting landing flaps, in redundancy and control systems for other adjustment mechanisms.

- in medical technology as drill shafts for surgical instruments as well as in endoscopic equipment and tools for minimally invasive surgery.

- in grinding and polishing technology to drive grinding and polishing tools for toolmaking and in the manufacture of jewellery and watches.

- in mechanical engineering and construction for various tasks.

Flexible shafts are suitable for use to solve practically every problem and can be produced to satisfy any customer-specific demands. They can even be implemented to solve difficult tasks involved in the transmission of forces. The "heart" of the flexible shaft, the so called shaft core, is made of high quality spring steel wire on special machines. Even today, shaft cores are made by hand according to requirements and where operation at high speeds is necessary. The high-precision shaft cores and helices for use in medical technology are manufactured exclusively by hand.

Complete shafts with protective tubes and customer-specific connections are produced by our own assembly department according to the highest quality standards. Flexible shafts are produced to fulfil the highest demands in respect of functionality, quality, safety and long service life, and are practically wear-free.

Our certification in conformance with EN ISO 9001 and EN ISO 13485 are proof not only of our high quality standards but also of numerous positive assessments by our customers.
