The New Range of High Performance Dewpoint Instruments
Suitable for a wide range of industrial applications
The new range of dew point instruments from Shaw Moisture Meters are easy to install and operate, requiring little or no maintenance and include a new high performance dewpoint transmitter, the AcuDew and three new compatible, single channel displays: the AcuLoop, AcuVu and AcuTrak.
The AcuDew dew point transmitter utilises the ultra high capacitance SHAW moisture sensing technology. Various dew point ranges are available, covering an overall range of -120 °C to +20 °C (-184 °F to +68 °F) dew point. Robust and reliable, built of a stainless-steel construction and M12 connector, with a protection rating of IP66 (NEMA 4X), this dewpoint transmitter can withstand extreme environmental conditions and is suited to harsh environments. Incorporating the AutoCal function, users can check the span of the instrument and correct for any deviation between annual laboratory calibrations, without the need for any special equipment.
This 2 wire, 4-20 mA, loop powered dewpoint transmitter offers excellent sensitivity, repeatability and speed of response. Maintaining signal integrity even when installed in remote locations of distances up to 1,000 metres (3,280 feet). AcuDew has been tested to withstand pressures up to 35,000kPA (350 bar) making it suitable for direct connection in to pipelines and is designed for long term unattended operation. When installed correctly, there are no controls to operate during normal use.
The three compatible displays vary in functionality depending on your needs. Choose from the AcuLoop, AcuVu or AcuTrak. The AcuLoop plug in display module connects directly to the AcuDew dewpoint transmitter via the robust M12 connector, which is loop powered through the AcuLoop display module. Easily supported on the body of the AcuDew, the AcuLoop can be rotated for optimum viewing. The orientation is adjustable to 210 degrees on its stem and 360 degrees (at 4 x 90 degrees increments) on its axis.
The ⅛ DIN panel mount AcuVu includes: 4-20 mA signal retransmission, two fully programmable alarm relays, which can be set independently across the full operating range of the connected dew point transmitter and user configurations can be password protected. This fully self-contained, single channel, inline hygrometer accepts a universal supply voltage, has low power consumption and can be located up to 1,000 metres away from the dew point transmitter whilst still providing a fast response time and long-term signal accuracy.
The AcuTrak inline hygrometer is user friendly, including the features of the AcuVu but with advanced functionality. The 4-20 mA analogue output and RS485 digital communications for remote interrogation, allow the user to set the address and baud rate used in communicating with a PC. This hygrometer contains default settings. Various configuration parameters can be altered to suit your requirements: pressure, moisture and engineering units. For ppm(w) calculations, choose from the various gas types or enter a known molar mass using the Bukacek formula. The Natural Gas correlation can be switched off or on if required. AcuTrak accepts a universal power supply input and the linear 4-20 mA signal retransmission can be configured across the range of the dewpoint transmitter.
Also compatible with the new AcuDew dewpoint transmitter are the SU4 sample system and SWS weatherproof sample system. The SU4 combines a pressure regulator, sensor holder and flow meter mounted on a back plate to provide ideal operating conditions. The SWS provides a full sampling system in an IP66 rated enclosure.
With lots of features, this robust and reliable new range of dew point instruments offer excellent sensitivity, repeatability, speed of response and will provide many years of accurate and reliable trace moisture measurement.
