Why do industrial capacitive touch screens have anti-glare?

There are many processes for industrial touch screens, such as optical bonding, coating, etc. One of the important processes is anti-glare. So why do some capacitive touch screens have to have an anti-glare treatment on the surface of the glass cover? According to the product application field, the anti-glare treatment process can be used. Generally speaking, it is mainly to allow the capacitive display to better cope with the refraction of ambient light. If the ambient light is strong, it is recommended to use anti-glare.

1. Reduce light reflection

In an environment with strong ambient light or complex light sources, the surface of the industrial display screen may reflect due to the intensity and type of the light source, forming glare, affecting the user’s reading of the screen content. The anti-glare treatment can effectively diffuse or weaken the reflection of external light by spraying an anti-glare coating on the screen surface or using special treatments such as frosted glass, allowing users to read the screen content normally.

2. Enhance readability

Using industrial touch screens outdoors or in bright workshop environments, such as direct sunlight, strong light or high-brightness light, will inevitably cause reflections due to light intensity, resulting in a decrease in user readability. In these cases, the content on the screen can be clearly seen through anti-glare treatment. Therefore, it can make the text, images and other contents on the screen clearly visible outdoors or in strong light environments.

3. Improve touch accuracy

The surface of the industrial display screen after anti-glare treatment usually has a certain frosted texture, which can effectively reduce the probability of false touches when users touch the screen, improve touch accuracy, and adapt to the high-precision requirements of industrial equipment. In addition, equipment that has been special treated can reduce the probability of visual misjudgment or even safety accidents during operation. Therefore, anti-glare screens can improve the safety of operation and reduce the risk of accidents.

4. Adapt to harsh environments

Industrial environments or outdoor environments often have dust, water mist, oil stains, etc. These particles staying on the screen surface may further aggravate the reflection problem. Anti-glare treatment can not only diffuse reflected light and reduce reflections, but also be combined with waterproof, dustproof, oil-proof and other functions to improve the durability and adaptability of the screen, and enhance the visibility and user experience of the screen.
