Industry 4.0 Smart Manufacturing

Industry 4.0 Smart Manufacturing

Background:

Industry 4.0 is the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies. It includes CPS(cyber-physical systems), IOT(the Internet of things) and cloud computing. It creates what has been called a "smart factory". Over the Internet of Things, cyber-physical systems communicate and cooperate with each other and with humans in real time, and via the Internet of Services, both internal and cross-organizational services are offered and used by participants of the value chain.

Main applications:

RFID , the essential technology of smart manufacturing, could be used in follow parts:

Raw materials and spare parts tracing and inventory

Automatic production control for flexible needs

Production data collection and store, analysis

Products warehousing management within factory

Benefit:

1. Increase efficiency and easy management

RFID makes every parts of production line could be tracking and controlled remotely. Each RFID tag on the raw materials and spare parts is unique with production data like date, series number, size etc. RFID scanners on machines or branches of conveyor belts would read the data and issue corresponding commands to robots and logistics systems. At the meantime, the production data is uploaded to cloud terminal for management level to quickly react to every position. And this also support convenient inventory, optimized delivery and quality control of warehousing department.

2. Meet flexible production and customized demand

In order to realize intelligent manufacturing, flexible production is the most critical link, which is characterized by emphasizing the individuation and customization of customers. With RFID identification technology, the raw materials, factories, distribution and customers are connected, in which corporation of MES and ERP system. Customers only need to issue an order, the factory will automatically according to customer demand for the purchase of raw materials, scheduling production, and then the goods directly to the customer.
