for Simulator(Racing/Flight/Training/Trunk)
Actuator Set up Guide with Thanos AMC-AASD15A Servo Controller .You can purchase our 80ST-M2030 or 90ST-M2030 here. The purpose of this quick start guide is to help you configure your AASD servo drive to work with the Thanos Motion controllers. Please feel free to contact us for servo manual.
Motor Shield cables
In most cases, the AC servo motor, AASD servo drive, motor power cable, and encoder cable are sold together. Connect the AC servo motor to the AASD servo drive with the included cables per the diagram above. It is recommended to use a shielded motor power cable to prevent EMI issues with other devices.
Thanos AMC Controller Cables
Standard DB25 Male to Male extension cables are used to connect the AASD servo drive to the Thanos AMC controller. Shielded cables are recommended to reduce potential EMI issue.
Reset Factory Defaults
Before configuring your AASD servo drive, it is recommended that you reset the drive to factory defaults
Press the Mode (MOD) button until Fn000 shows on the LED Display
Select Fn004 using the Up and Down arrow buttons
Press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds to enter the function
Press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds to reset to factory defaults
The LED Display will show “done” if successful and “Err” if the reset failed
AASD Configuration
Set the following parameters on your AASD servo drive to work with the Thanos Motion controllers
Actuator set up guide with Thanos AMC-AASD15A controller
The AMC-AASD15A servo motion controller can control the AASD-15A servomotors safely and accurate. The controller allows to set the following parameters to match your actuators:
Adjustable stroke from 10mm to 1300mm
Adjustable screw lead Pitch, 4mm, 5mm, 10mm or 25mm advance per revolution
Adjustable direction for Inline or Foldback placement of servomotor
Optional selection of belt reduction ratios (1:1, 1:1.5, 1:2) for foldback actuators.
It supports up to 6DOF platforms (Extra manual wiring for 7DOF is possible also).
Other motion software that are also supported are SIM RACING STUDIO, Simtools, FlyPT mover and Ian’s BFF 6DOF motion software, as it uses the same data format as all my AMC motion controllers.
This controller was designed to allow conversion of 4DOF platforms from SFX100 to Simtools compatibility. It was build on the already proven AMC1280USB controller but has dedicated servo firmware and DB25 connectors for easy plug and play use.
What makes it special?
Its fully autonomous and secure way to interface your 4DOF or 6DOF platform to simtools, with lots of security and safety measures, while allowing simple plug and play operation.
