SHINING 3D Metrology Launches FreeScan Trak Nova+

A Proven Solution, Upgraded for Greater Efficiency

SHINING 3D Metrology announces the launch of FreeScan Trak Nova+, the upgraded generation of its FreeScan Trak Nova wireless multi-functional dynamic tracking & scanning system. Building on the proven performance and market success of the previous generation, FreeScan Trak Nova+ introduces key enhancements designed to further improve scanning efficiency and productivity.

Built on a Proven Foundation
Since its introduction, FreeScan Trak Nova has gained strong market recognition for combining wireless operation, marker-free scanning, dynamic tracking, built-in VPG(Video Photogrammetry), and a versatile all-in-one design that allows the tracker to also function as a large-FOV handheld laser scanner. Its flexible workflow enables users to efficiently capture large components, complex geometries, and hard-to-reach areas without the limitations of cables or extensive marker preparation.

FreeScan Trak Nova+ builds on this established foundation while taking scanning efficiency to the next level.

More Laser Lines. Faster Scanning.
The most significant upgrade comes with the enhanced laser configuration. FreeScan Trak Nova+ achieves a scanning speed of up to 7,600,000 points/s, enabling faster data acquisition and significantly reducing scanning time. In tracking mode, TE Nova+ offers three scanning options to address different measurement needs: 62 laser lines for high-speed scans, 25 parallel laser lines for detailed scans, and 1 laser line for deep pockets scans. When the tracker is separated and used as a large-FOV handheld laser scanner, UE Nova+ also features 62 laser lines, up from 50 in the previous generation, further enhancing scanning efficiency.

The increased scanning speed is particularly beneficial for large or complex components, allowing users to capture extensive surface data efficiently while maintaining detailed geometric information.

A Mobile Workstation for Greater Mobility
To support flexible, on-site scanning, FreeScan Trak Nova Series can be paired with a dedicated mobile workstation, which integrates high-performance computing and battery power into a mobile setup.

The solution allows users to move freely around large components without being tied to a fixed workstation, creating a more streamlined workflow for field measurement, inspection, and reverse engineering.
