Silverson Sealed Unit Laboratory Mixers
A new product video explaining and demonstrating the use of the Silverson Sealed Unit Laboratory mixers has been released on the Silverson YouTube channel.
As a results of many requests for information on one of the specialised mixers in the Silverson Laboratory mixer range, a new product video explaining and demonstrating the use of the Silverson Sealed Unit Laboratory mixers has been released on the Silverson YouTube channel.
The Silverson Sealed Unit Laboratory Mixer is designed mixing sterile materials or hazardous materials, for working under vacuum and for applications where it is essential to exclude airborne contamination. It has been designed so that processing can be carried out under conditions of absolute safety, since the mechanical seal protects sterile materials from airborne contamination and eliminates the risk of materials escaping into the surrounding atmosphere.
The mixer is ideal for research and pilot-scale production, mixing in clean-rooms and for mixing applications in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
The efficiency of the machine is such that materials are reduced to a fine homogeneous suspension in a few seconds, with virtually no heat rise. In the Sealed Unit product video, the mixer's special Quick-Release mechanism is demonstrated. Like with many other mixers in the Silverson product range, the Sealed Unit mixers comes with a range of compatible assemblies for different processing needs, increasing versatility, which are made of either glass or stainless steel. The Quick-Release mechanism permits any of these Sealed Unit Mixing Assemblies to be easily attached or removed. Once attached, the mechanism hermetically seals the mixing assembly and vessel, preventing any contamination.
As with the standard L5M-A Laboratory mixer, the Sealed Unit comes with touch screen control with digital tachometer, programmable integral timer and amperage display.
This level of instrumentation is invaluable for applications, such as vaccines, where process validation and reproducibility are required.
