Need by Spelsberg: AK e-mobility distributor – essential for simply connecting the wallbox to an existing distribution

To safely charge your electric car for your home

Charging the electric car quickly and safely at home: With its new development, the ready-to-connect and equipped AK E mobility distributor, Günther Spelsberg GmbH + Co. Kg now offers the optimal prerequisites for this. The distributor, which can be installed in carport and garage, creates the safe and fast connection between an existing electrical distribution and the wallbox.

Connect and finish

Charging the electric vehicle via household 230-V sockets is not suitable due to the high drop in performance, in some cases even risky, as such permanent exposure can cause a fire. This is why the user needs a reliable wall charging station for the "e-gas station" at the house. In order for a wallbox to charge the electric car quickly and safely, the new circuit must be protected by protective devices to supply the wallbox in accordance with the VDE 0100-722. So are the

AK E-Mobility distributor from Spelsberg equipped with line protection and error power protection switches. The distributors are already equipped, pre-wired and tested.

The use of the new AK E mobility distributor eliminates the need to retool the existing distribution. Long shutdown times of the house's electrical installation as well as a reassessment of the entire system are therefore no longer required. This saves costs and time. In addition, the inventory distributor often lacks the necessary space to install additional connection terminals.

From Basic to Comfort

Spelsberg offers two variants of the AK E mobility distributor, each designed and equipped for all commercially available wallboxes from different manufacturers up to 11 kW of power. All distributors have undergone a design test according to EN 61439-3.

The AK 14 + EMOBIL Basic e-mobility infrastructure distributors are compact, single-row and wired to 10 mm2 ready to connect. The integrated ventilation system avoids condensation water in the distribution box. For the 11-kW wallbox with integrated 6-mA-DC monitoring, the AK 14+Typ A-series with FI protection switch is ideal. If DC monitoring is missing, it is advisable to use type B.

The AK 28 + EMOBIL Comfort series was complemented by additional features compared to the AK 14 +. The Comfort distributors Type A and Type B are two-way stocked. This makes it possible to install a Type 2 surge protection for sensitive charging electronics as well as for an intermediate counter that informs about energy consumption.

Custom solutions

All AK E mobility distributors are based on the VDE-certified AK Air small distributors and have a high protection type of IP 65. This means that the connection is protected against the penetration of dirt, dust and jet water. The DLG test report 6393 confirms the Spelsberg small distributors with a high resistance to ammonia, which is why they are particularly well suited for use in agriculture.

Spelsberg also offers tailor-made solutions and specifies the AK EMOBIL series for different requirements – e.g. car-sharing rental stations or car rental companies.
