GPAINNOVA Recruits Anna Schlegel, Named «Most Influential Woman in Tech», as Chief Strategy Advisor

Anna Navarro Schlegel, named the Most Influential Women in Technology by the prestigious US magazine Analytics Insight in 2020, and featured this year as the Most Admired Woman Leader in Business by the international business magazine CIO Look, has just joined GPAINNOVA as Chief Strategy Advisor.

Schlegel will help to develop the company to its full potential, in order to turn it into one of the leading European companies in the technology sector. A SUCCESSFUL CAREER IN SILICON VALLEY

Born in Olot (Girona, Spain), Schlegel received a BA in English and a BA in German from the University of Barcelona (UB) and the Humboldt-Universität in Berlin. In 1992, after having worked at British Airways, she moved to San Francisco to create a company specializing in technology for globalization when she was 23 years old.

Shortly after that, she was hired by Cisco Systems, one of the most cutting-edge telecommunications companies, where she earned experience and knowledge in technological globalization dynamics, by adapting its portfolio and helping the company to sell its services on all five continents. She worked at VMware, VeriSign and Xerox, before becoming the Vice President of NetApp for 12 years. This organization, located at Silicon Valley, is the world leading data storage company, with a team of more than 11,000 employees and an annual turnover above 6,000 million dollars.

Schlegel is currently the Vice President (Product, International Markets, and Globalization) at Procore Technologies, a construction project management software company, located in California and being the world’s leading player in this sector. Its AI-based software solutions are being marketed today in more than 120 countries worldwide.

ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL EXPERTS ON GLOBALIZATION

Schlegel is not only an expert in content and global strategies in the technology sector, but also plays a leadership role that has consolidated her as «one of the best experts on globalization in the world», according to CIO Look. Much of her efforts are devoted to improving the functioning of the company. She also stresses the role of women in large corporations, and highlights how women have a great capacity «to empathize and seek commitments». In addition, Schlegel is the head of the NGO Women in Technology, and co-founder of several NGOs, such as Women in Localization, organizations that support women in the world of work.

The Spanish executive believes that the key to the success is the gradual automation of all the processes, including data search and visualization. For example, Procore workers answer daily a survey about their satisfaction in the company. She explains that the automation of processes based on IA allows to get «a code that is written without human intervention, eventual complaints to be solved without human intervention, or texts to be translated without human intervention».

This makes it easier to focus on the important thing: Customers, investment in innovation, and constant data management. She believes that the priority in any company is the ability to understand the customer, investing energies towards real needs and putting the focus on innovation.
