How to Solve Mechanical Resonance and Vibration in DD Motor Servo Systems
A practical solution for reducing DD motor servo vibration by identifying resonance frequencies, optimizing mechanical stiffness and load conditions, and applying appropriate servo filtering and tuning strategies.
Mechanical resonance in DD motor servo systems cannot always be solved by adjusting servo parameters alone. When vibration occurs during acceleration, positioning, or constant-speed operation, engineers should first identify the dominant resonance frequencies and evaluate their relationship with the servo control bandwidth. High-frequency resonance may be addressed through properly configured notch filters or other suppression functions, while low-frequency resonance often requires mechanical improvements, such as increasing structural stiffness, reducing moving mass, and optimizing bearing support and mounting interfaces. By combining mechanical optimization with systematic servo tuning, equipment manufacturers can improve motion stability, positioning accuracy, and settling time in precision CNC, semiconductor, optical inspection, and industrial automation applications.
