Cement Kiln Co-Processing Solution

Project Overview

The project is located in Yinjiaxi Town, Zhangjiajie City, within the solid waste recycling utilization industrial park. The project mainly deals with construction and decoration waste and alternative fuels. After the project is completed, the waste disposal capacity will reach 500t/d for construction and decoration waste and 70t/d for alternative fuels.

Project Highlight

This project has the advantage of co-processing with cement kilns compared to general construction and demolition waste disposal projects. The ash and aggregate are sent to the raw material end of the cement plant for treatment, while the other combustible materials are prepared into RDF and sent to the cement plant for alternative fuel treatment. Cement manufacturing is a complex process. The clinker production stage emits 95% of the CO2. The process of calcining limestone to produce quicklime accounts for about 55-70% of the total carbon emissions. The high-temperature calcination process, which requires fuel burning, generates about 25-40% of the total carbon emissions during production.

Falling demand, energy efficiency improvements, alternative fuels, and the accelerated promotion of carbon capture technologies are crucial for carbon reduction in China's cement industry. Alternative fuels are a higher priority and more cost-effective way to achieve about 10% of the industry's carbon reduction by 2050. Currently in China, waste contributes less than 5% to cement production, and waste is a better potential resource for carbon reduction.

With JONO's WTE (Waste-to-Energy) line, solid waste is transformed into alternative fuels for entry into the kiln. And it significantly increased the economic benefits of waste disposal.
