Thermocouple Entry Gland for Pharmaceutical Autoclaves
The TCEG seals up to 36 validation thermocouples and is an essential tool for the Validation Engineer.
Pharmaceutical sterilisation standards require periodic validation of temperatures inside an autoclave. The validation engineer will pass a series of type T thermocouple wires through a port in the autoclave wall, and locate the hot junctions at various locations inside the autoclave.
The TCEG is an essential tool for the validation engineer. It is designed to ensure an effective seal on up to 36 validation thermocouples against the internal pressure of the autoclave. The design of the TCEG, based on practical validation experience, is superior to other available products and it is fitted as standard equipment by autoclave manufacturers such as Steris Finn-Aqua as well as by pharmaceutical manufacturers and service organisations.
See our new video which shows an animation of the TCEG assembly sequence, demonstrating its ease of use.
Thermocouple Placement:
• 18 side slots, each 4mm wide can accomodate up to 36 thermocouples in a a variety of different wire formats.
• The side slots incorporate a curved base which follows the contour of the thermocouple jacket allowing it to 'nest' and assist in the sealing process.
Design Features:
• The body is machined from 316L stainless steel and finished internally to Ra 0.5 (25μ inch).
• The brass cap is machined from marine grade brass which resists surface tarnish.
• A locking mechanism on the cap prevents accidental removal during the autoclave cycle.
• Sealants made from medical grade silicone to FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 and USP VI.
• A range of process connection options available to suit any requirement.
Expansion Options:
• Two TCEG's can be combined using T or Y extension tubes and pharmaceutical clamps, to accomodate up to 72 thermocouples.
• A range of extension pieces, thermocouple wire and validation thermocouples are also available from Thermal Detection, contact us for details.
