Air transport as a response to quality and performance

Technimanut's experts were called in by our customer to deal with a change in its quality charter. They wanted to optimize battery charging on their new vehicles at the end of the production line. After listening carefully to our customer's needs and objectives, we understood the challenges he was facing. We therefore proposed a unique overhead conveyor solution, to offer a proactive response on his production line.

A flexible accumulation system for greater productivity

The project involves a 131-metre overhead bi-rail accumulation conveyor. This system automatically embeds a loader on each pallet it transports. There are 19 in all! The aim is to synchronize the arrival of the battery chargers with the entry of the vehicles onto the conveyors. To achieve this, we have developed a system to ensure that each vehicle is equipped with an appropriate charger. In this way, the Technimanut system contributes to the quality and reliability of finished products. The overhead handling system in question combines state-of-the-art technology with ergonomic design, offering maximum efficiency while minimizing risks to operators and vehicles.

Aware of the diversity of vehicles in automotive production, our overhead conveyor is designed to accommodate vehicles of varying lengths to best meet our customer's requirements. Thanks to an intelligent tracking and positioning system, the battery chargers follow each vehicle individually, whatever its size, ensuring perfect synchronization between production and equipment. To compensate for pitch variations between vehicles, our twin-rail overhead conveyor incorporates an accumulation system. Battery chargers are temporarily stored on the “power and free” conveyor, enabling a continuous flow of production without compromising efficiency or quality.

Anticipating the emerging needs of the automotive industry

On this project, our bi-rail overhead conveyor optimized our customer's production flow, promising fluid, synchronized transport of battery chargers. The result is increased productivity and reduced downtime. What's more, the system's modular design and flexibility make it easy to adapt to future production requirements. Today, up to 750 vehicles/day can be charged according to the requirements of the automotive group.

Our system also has the advantage of preventing MSD (musculoskeletal disorders) among operators. Workstations are ergonomically designed. The installed conveyor places the battery charger clamps at man-height, limiting the need for operators to carry loads and move around.
