Safety first: self-locking pallet gate type T
Locking of the safety gate when the operator is present inside the safety space
As we all know, transferring loads between different levels always involves a high risk of falling.
The installation of a type T safety gate, particularly appreciated for low ceilings and high loads, protects the operator during the handling phases between different levels, because in the closed position, the edge of the platform is secured by a guardrail and in the open position, the operator stays behind the safety cage waiting for the end of loading or unloading.
However, even the best safety system cannot prevent negligence or malice. If, despite the strict prohibition stipulated in the operating procedure, the operator manipulates the closed guard rail on the edge of the platform whilst being in the safety space, he creates a danger to himself.
In order to avoid this risk, TRIAX has created the self-locking system for its T type pallet gates: it is impossible to manipulate the guardrail facing the edge when it is closed, in order to handle the gate, the operator is obliged to be outside the safety area and must manipulate the guardrail by the rails on the platform side.
This self-locking system is optional for the TRIAX range of T-type safety locks.
