UMAG magnets used in 3D Printer
NdFeB Permanent Magnets
3D printing, or additive manufacturing, has the potential to democratize the production of goods, from food to medical supplies, to great coral reefs. In the future, 3D printing machines could make their way into homes, businesses, disaster sites, and even outer space.
A stepper motor is a very precise motor which allows a 3D Printer to work. The stepper motors turn threaded axels to move the extruder and/or build plate. At the same time a stepper motor pushes plastic through the hot part so it attaches to the layer before it. Stepper motors can turn through "steps"—well-defined angles—under precise electronic control.
Permanent magnets are axially magnetized, meaning it has alternating north and south poles parallel to the rotor shaft. These motors are also referred to as “can stack” or “tin can” motors because their stators consist of two coils contained in soft iron housings (i.e. “cans”) with teeth on the inside that interact with the rotor. UMAG supply the competitive permanent arc segment magnets in step motor with multiples magnetization.
