A modular future

Modularity as a synonym of saving, time and costs. This is the response of Varvel SpA, Bologna-based enterprise operating worldwide, to the growing demand for customization of the global market, but also cost-effectiveness and ease of product management.

Confirming the success of the latest series, Varvel decided to include in its Customer Service site the ISM input shaft and BSM backstop modules that can be installed on most Varvel gearboxes with "S" input and "G" flexible coupling in a few minutes and with a simple wrench fixing.

In the year of the sixtieth, Varvel invests not only on a large number of new products, but also on the international customer service for more than 60 countries on all five continents. .

ISM input shaft modules, usable on all the families of Varvel gearboxes, with the simple fitting of a coupling, allow to get a gearbox with input shaft, suitable for belt, pulley, chain transmissions, etc. This allows distributors and resellers of not being forced to keep in stock every type of gearboxes, in all sizes, IEC frames, gear ratios and for all possible input configurations.

It is enough to have some ISM modules available for each gear size (40, 50, 60, 70, 85 and 110) and in a few minutes the gearbox required by the customer can be assembled in the requested type and size.

A formula that allows, also thanks to the improved logistics development, for immediate product availability to meet the customers working with very tight planning. Same way, this opportunity allows the Varvel network not to charge for costs arising from a heavy warehouse management and burdensome supplies to ensure immediate availability to customers. In addition to the above, there are advantages from economies of scale to costs control and environmental impact reduction for the production.

Also BSM (Back-Stop Module), a module containing a backstop bearing which allows just one rotation and does not the other, is particularly versatile.

Often these special bearings are used in applications with inclined conveyors because they avoid the drift by gravity even with normal electrical motors not equipped with a brake. The BSM modules can be mounted at input of all Varvel gearboxes and on request a backstop bearing can be fitted into the ISM module.
