Aigtek ATA-2082B High Voltage Amplifier: A Dual-Channel Driver Solution for Piezoelectric, Ultrasonic and Dielectrophoresis Testing
The Aigtek ATA-2082B drives capacitive and high-impedance loads with 1600 Vp-p, 65 mAp and a switchable differential output, covering AC and DC signals from DC to 200 kHz.
Piezoelectric stacks, ultrasonic transducers and microfluidic chips do not load an amplifier the way a resistor does. They draw current in bursts, shift impedance with frequency, and frequently need a standing DC bias before the drive signal even begins. The ATA-2082B puts two independent channels in one chassis to cover that behaviour: DC to 200 kHz at -3 dB, up to 1600 Vp-p (±800 Vp) in differential mode or 800 Vp-p (±400 Vp) single-ended, 65 mAp and 52 Wp, with a slew rate of at least 356 V/µs. Gain is set digitally from 0 to 200×, a ±400 V offset is available per channel, and input impedance switches between 50 Ω and 100 kΩ so one unit matches both high- and low-impedance sources. Voltage and current are read live from BNC monitor ports at 10 mV/V and 20 V/A, distortion stays at or below 0.1% at 1 kHz and 100 Vp-p, and over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature protection run in the background. Applications include ultrasonic testing and non-destructive evaluation, piezoelectric actuator characterisation, dielectrophoresis cell sorting and ultrasonic atomisation.
