The 16th IDEF 2023, the International Industry Fair in Istanbul, Turkey, is organized by the Turkish Ministry of Defence, supported by the Presidency of Defense Industries of the Republic of Turkey, and managed by the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation. The exhibition is organized by the Turkish Trade Show and Exhibition Company and takes place at the Istanbul International Convention and Exhibition Center. It is one of the world's top three defense industry trade shows and serves as a stage for international defence industry companies to showcase their products.

The exhibition is divided into six main sections: land, sea, air, homeland and space security, transportation and logistics support, and law enforcement equipment. The previous edition saw an increase in the number of exhibitors to 1,238 companies from 53 countries including Russia, France, South Africa, Austria, Kazakhstan, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Italy, Slovakia, the United States, Ukraine, Switzerland, Sweden, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, and others. There were 68,795 professional visitors from 94 countries and regions. Additionally, 4,055 meetings, 94 signing ceremonies, 7 panel discussions, and 2 speeches were held concurrently.
