YOEC’s Fiber Coil Recognized as a Hubei Premium Product

On April 10, the second “Hubei Premium” release event was successfully held in Wuhan. Vice Governor Chen Ping attended the ceremony and presented awards to 17 exemplary enterprises. Mr. Lian Zhenggang, General Manager of the R&D Center at Wuhan Yangtze Optical Electronic Co., Ltd. (YOEC, Stock Code: 688143), took the stage to receive the award on behalf of the company.

In recent years, Hubei Province has earnestly implemented President Xi Jinping’s important directives on quality and brand development. With a focus on building a key strategic hub for central China's rise, the province has fully advanced its brand development strategy, continually enhancing the influence and recognition of Hubei brands both nationally and globally. The “Hubei Premium” initiative is a provincial-level brand cultivation project designed to support the high-quality development of local industries and accelerate industrial transformation and upgrading.

Launched in 2023, the program focuses on the “51020” advanced manufacturing and modern service industry clusters, selecting products and services with outstanding standards, quality, and reputation. YOEC’s Standard Skeleton-Free Fiber Coil for Fiber Optic Gyroscopes stood out from over a thousand entries in this second round of selection, demonstrating the company’s leading position in product innovation, quality control, and technical excellence. It is a benchmark of outstanding brand quality in Hubei.

During the award ceremony, Mr. Lian Zhenggang of YOEC shared the inspiring “Pursuers of Light” story alongside Mr. Luo Wenyong, General Manager of the Innovation Center at FiberHome Technologies, and Mr. Mi Renbing, Deputy General Manager of Wuhan EFR Laser Co., Ltd. Together with 60 young representatives from the three companies, they proudly declared, “Walk with Light, Shine Across the World,” powerfully illustrating the core spirit of the “Hubei Premium” initiative—resilience, dedication, and striving for excellence.

From a dismantled tower at a Nottingham lab to the award stage of the Hubei Provincial Government, from foreign technical blockade to reverse procurement by German engineers—YOEC has spent more than a decade writing a story of persistence and breakthrough in Chinese manufacturing. This “Hubei Premium” medal is not just a milestone, but a new starting point. As we gaze at the stars, aboard those shining spacecrafts are contributions from the “light chasers” of Optics Valley, whose wisdom and craftsmanship continue to illuminate the path of innovation.
