On the morning of July 22, the unveiling ceremony of the Joint Laboratory for Photonic Integrated Chips and Specialty Optical Fiber Integration, established by Yangtze Optical Electronic Co., Ltd. (YOEC) and the Hangzhou Beihang International Innovation Institute, was held at the conference center of the institute. The launch was witnessed by Sir David Payne, Fellow of the Royal Society and the Royal Academy of Engineering, and Director of the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) at the University of Southampton, as well as Professor Adrian Podoleanu, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, founding member and first chairman of the Romanian chapter of SPIE, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Commission for Optics (ICO), and Head of the Applied Optics Group at the University of Kent. The unveiling was jointly officiated by Professor Shen Ping, Director of the Joint Laboratory and Global President of the IEEE Photonics Society, along with Mr. Lian Zhenggang, Technical Director of YOEC.
