YMTC Officially Opens in Changsha
On July 12, Yangtze Marine Technology (Hunan) Co., Ltd. (YMTC) officially celebrated its grand opening in Kaifu District, Changsha, marking an important milestone in YOEC's strategic expansion into the marine optoelectronics sector.
The opening ceremony was attended by Zhang Dafang, former Vice Chairman of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC); Wu Jinming, Counselor of the Hunan Provincial People's Government; Jiang Wenwu, Mayor of Kaifu District; He Yunpeng, Deputy Mayor of Kaifu District; together with Pi Yabin, Chairman and President of Wuhan Yangtze Optical Electronic Co., Ltd. (YOEC), members of the company's senior management team, industry experts, and business partners, who gathered to witness this significant occasion.
In his keynote address, Chairman Pi Yabin emphasized that Hunan has become an important inland hub for offshore engineering equipment and specialty optoelectronic technologies, making it highly compatible with YOEC's strategy of advancing marine innovation through intelligent manufacturing. He noted that the establishment of YMTC represents a key milestone in YOEC's nationwide industrial layout and demonstrates the company's long-term commitment to supporting China's marine development strategy.
Leveraging Changsha's strong innovation ecosystem, YMTC will focus on next-generation marine sensing technologies while establishing a large-scale manufacturing base for marine optoelectronic products and a research and development center serving central China. The company aims to strengthen the regional deep-sea optoelectronics supply chain and contribute to the development of a competitive inland marine technology cluster.
During the ceremony, Deputy Mayor He Yunpeng congratulated YMTC on its official launch and reaffirmed Kaifu District's commitment to supporting the company's future growth. He highlighted the district's advantages in innovation resources, industrial development, and talent services, and expressed confidence that YMTC would help attract upstream and downstream marine optoelectronics enterprises, becoming a leading force in regional marine technology innovation while contributing to Changsha's vision of becoming a globally influential R&D hub.
Government officials and company executives jointly unveiled the company and participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the official commencement of YMTC's operations. Following the ceremony, guests toured the production facilities to gain first-hand insight into the company's manufacturing capabilities and its portfolio of core marine sensing products, including fiber optic hydrophones designed for deep-sea information sensing applications.
The official opening of Yangtze Marine Technology (Hunan) Co., Ltd. (YMTC) marks another important step in YOEC's transformation of advanced marine optoelectronic technologies into industrial-scale applications. Looking ahead, YMTC will leverage Changsha as its strategic hub in central China, continue expanding the application of optoelectronic technologies in marine environments, and work closely with local partners to foster a world-class inland marine innovation ecosystem.
