Ezhou YOEC Demonstrates the Speed of the Optoelectronics Industry Through Full-Chain Operational Excellence

Signed in December 2025 and officially inaugurated in June 2026, Ezhou YOEC Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd. completed the journey from facility construction and fit-out to large-scale production in just eight months. During this period, the team expanded from just over 20 employees to nearly 300, while daily production capacity surged from 300 units to 8,000 units. These solid operational figures provide the clearest measure of production ramp-up, order fulfillment, and team growth.

As a strategic extension of Yangtze Optical Electronic Co., Ltd. (YOEC) into the downstream optical component industry, Ezhou YOEC plays a key role in extending YOEC’s integrated micro-industrial chain of “fiber–adhesive–coil–module–equipment” toward end applications. Located in the Binjiang Science and Technology New Area of Echeng District, the project not only supports the region’s development of new quality productive forces, but also injects fresh momentum into the rapid growth of Ezhou’s optoelectronics industry.

Forward Planning and Process Transfer:
The Formula Behind Mass Production in Eight Months

Optical component manufacturing places stringent requirements on Class 10,000 cleanrooms, purified water, compressed air, temperature and humidity control, and electrostatic discharge protection. At the same time, surging demand driven by AI computing has created a narrow market window that requires extremely fast delivery.

During the facility construction stage, Ezhou YOEC simultaneously initiated equipment scheduling, workforce preparation, and supply-chain material allocation, transforming traditionally sequential processes into parallel operations. Rather than starting from scratch, the company transferred mature manufacturing processes, testing standards, and its MES-based quality management system directly to Ezhou, with key technical personnel stationed on site to support the ramp-up.

As a result, product yield steadily increased from around 70% during trial production to approximately 90% in mass production today, demonstrating the effectiveness of this approach.

A cross-functional project team reviews progress daily and closes out issues on the same day. Once equipment is installed, small-batch trial production is conducted first to identify potential issues, followed by iterative optimization and gradual capacity ramp-up. This disciplined approach, balancing speed and quality, has enabled the production line to scale rapidly while maintaining operational stability.

The Numbers Speak: A Strong Record of Capacity Ramp-Up

Currently, the production line operates at full capacity on a two-shift schedule, with equipment utilization remaining at a high level. All current orders are generated through internal collaboration within the YOEC Group. Raw-material supply remains smooth, the supply chain is stable, and delivery schedules are well controlled.

Building Talent and Looking Ahead:
Positioning for the Future in the AI Era

The acceleration of a business ultimately depends on the acceleration of its people. Ezhou YOEC has adopted a strategy combining deployment of core personnel with local talent development, rapidly building a capable local production team.

Although there is still a workforce gap of approximately 100 employees in key positions such as dispensing and inspection, the team is addressing the challenge through both intensified production efforts and accelerated recruitment to ensure reliable order fulfillment.

Driven by AI computing, the optical communications industry is entering a period of historic transformation. The AI optical transceiver market is expected to achieve a compound annual growth rate of nearly 29% from 2025 to 2030. Ezhou YOEC’s product roadmap is closely aligned with this industry trend. Leveraging YOEC’s integrated industrial-chain capabilities, the company has become deeply integrated into the optical interconnect supply chain for AI data centers.
