Flow meter turbine with integrated valve

The series 17.007 offered by A. u. K. Müllers fully integrates the two functionalities of measurement and flow control in one housing resulting in a simple to handle unit.

The flow meter turbine has a good accuracy and can be configured by different orifices (DN 1 – 7) to various measuring ranges. The simple internal pulse transmitter offers a long life time without risk of failure.

The integrated valve can either be a servo-controlled valve, a direct acting valve or a motorized valve. A servo-controlled valve is the best choice for large volumes (> ~10 liter) to be dispensed. The closing time of the valve depends on the applied pressure and can be in the range from 0.25 s (10 bar) - 2.75 s (0.2 bar). Please note that this affects the accuracy of the dispensed volume. Additionally a servo-controlled valve exhibits the advantage of avoiding water hammer when connected to the mains supply.

With a direct acting valve smaller volumes (< ~10 Litres) can be dispensed. The direct acting valve has the advantage to stop flow nearly at once, typically within milliseconds.

If the application requests to keep a predefined flow rate constant in a closed-loop control the motorized valve should be applied. In this case, the actual flow rate is measured and used to adjust the motorized valve to keep a predefined flow rate constant.
