Busbar Temperature Monitoring with Non-Contact Sensors
Calex Electronics manufactures infrared temperature sensors and alarm systems that are ideal for the job.
FIRE RISK
As the condition of busbar joints deteriorates, they become a fire hazard as they heat up. If the temperature of critical joints is continuously monitored using a network of sensors and alarms, it is possible to catch faults that cause heat build-up and prevent further damage.
ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS
Infrared pyrometers, manufactured in the UK by Calex, are the ideal solution.
The sensors work by detecting the heat emitted by the busbar joints, and they safely and continuously measure the temperature with an accuracy of +/- 1°C without touching the conductor surface.
SIMPLE INSTALLATION
The sensors are easy to install - just paint a measurable area to reduce reflections from the bare copper, and mount the sensor a short distance away.
INTERFACE OPTIONS
Analogue or digital outputs are available to be connected to existing systems, or Calex can provide a standalone system of sensors with data logging, indication, outputs and configuration.
