Again, Precitec Optronik, the reputated German manufacturer of optical sensors, is one dimension ahead! Based on more than 20 years of experience in the development of point/spot based optical sensors and probes, the company now launches a range of metrology system with a linear white light sensor array of 192 points, offering an incredibly fast 3D measurement of almost 400.000 points per second with nanometric scale resolution! The measuring spot is a line of up to 5 mm in length, made up of a large number (192) of individual measuring points. With the same measuring speed of the head you can scan a much larger area at the same time. This is especially important if large-scale scans have to be performed or topographies must be investigated.
Given this, speed and accuracy are no longer trade offs – this opens a completely new realm of topographical and geometrical measurements, be it height, width, depth, angle, shape, or the detection of cracks in industries like semiconductor, aeronautics, glassindustry or watchmaking, just to name a few.
Clearly, emphasis was placed during the development of CHRocodile...
