EROWA MTS Mineral Cast Cube

A machine's down-time should be kept as short as possible. This is in direct contradiction to the use of a tombstone in a machine since the enlarged exploitation of space also increases the workpiece loading/unloading work.

This is not the case, however, if the tombstone itself is set on the MTS datum point. In this way, setting up takes place while the machine is in operation, and the tombstone with the machined parts is exchanged for one with new blanks in next to no time.

The EROWA MTS system ensures precise positioning and also the best possible stability even with heavy chip-cutting processes. And furthermore, EROWA's CleverClamp system is available for workpiece clamping with a wide variety of clamping and stop elements.

Tombstones made of cast iron or aluminum have their respective advantages regarding weight, vibration damping, thermal conductivity and expansion. Epoxy granite, which is made of quartz sand, sand, rock flour and epoxy resin, unites the best properties of traditional materials. Its low weight, combined with a high degree of vibration damping and a low degree of thermal conductivity, make this material a brilliant base for clamping elements. The casings for MTS chucks or the inserts which constitute the hole grid are placed into the mold and are available for precise machining as soon as they have cured.

For optimal utilization of the machining space - even with existing clamping elements - the epoxy granite tombstones are configured and produced according to special specifications. Tall, wide, symmetrical, cubic, polygonal, to hold EROWA MTS chucks or for grid boreholes - everything is possible.
