D400 Ductile Iron Inspection Cover: Safety, Durability, and Innovation for Modern Infrastructure
Built to carry the future. Engineered to resist.
Reliability, safety and innovation: the new EN-GJS-500-7 ductile iron inspection cover, compliant with EN 124:2015 (D400 load class) and EN 1563:2018, is a cutting-edge solution for managing road, urban and industrial networks. With a breaking strength exceeding 400 kN (40 tons), it is ideal for installation in heavy traffic areas, such as roads, industrial yards, ports and logistics platforms.
Monoblock frame with integrated water-drain ramps
The frame is made in a single-piece casting with a reversed base and peripheral ramps, designed for raised installation above road level. These ramps are shaped to facilitate the drainage of surface water. Each side features holes for anchoring clamps to fix the cover securely to the underlying structure.
Inside the frame, an EPDM gasket ensures a watertight seal, preventing infiltration from yard runoff or rainwater.
Hinged cover with assisted opening and safety lock
The hinged cover is servo-assisted by two large-diameter torsion springs, which reduce the effort during opening and closing operations. A 100° automatic locking system ensures safe maintenance conditions.
The cover is fitted with a stainless steel lock, operated with a special-section key to prevent unauthorized access. At the contact point with the frame, a continuous, fuel- and wear-resistant gasket ensures chemical resistance and long-lasting performance. The top surface features a non-slip grip, ideal for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
