The flexible variant

Linear unit module 160/15 GPA with two gantries in one working area

IEF-Werner offers the linear unit module 160/15 in different versions, including the GPA version: This linear unit can be used to operate two gantries within the same workspace. The user benefits from efficient assembly, a compact toothed belt drive and the option of flexibly attaching the motors.

IEF-Werner offers a linear unit that provides a stroke of 100 to 5.500 millimetres and a travel speed of up to five metres per second in the basic version, the 160/15 module. The slide of the linear unit can be loaded with up to 80 kilograms. IEF-Werner offers different versions of the module in order to be able to meet the often special requirements of customers. These include, for example, a version with two independently travelling slides (module 160/15 G). Two motors move two slides independently of each other via two toothed belts. This innovative drive concept can, for example, replace two linear units that are arranged next to each other for certain applications, which saves space significantly.

Two slides, two drives

The 160/15 GPA module is a special variant. It is a positioning unit designed as a parallel drive: two motors can move two pairs of slides independently of each other. With this solution, two gantries can be operated within the same working area to save space. A positioning system with the 160/15 GPA module can be installed more efficiently than two individual gantries that would have to be aligned with each other. Another advantage: the modular design means that various motor attachment variants are available for flexible motor attachment.

IEF-Werner installs high-quality guides in the linear units, which enable dynamic and smooth movement. Although the guide elements are effectively protected from dirt by the toothed belt, additional wipers are used on the guide carriages. This also increases the service life of the linear units.

Users can utilise the 160/15 GPA module for a wide range of tasks. These include, for example, pick & place tasks in palletising, assembly or packaging systems, the adjustment of stops, joining and press-fitting processes in precision engineering or the loading and unloading of machine tools.
