How to detect transparent objects

detect transparent objects

On the production line, we often see various transparent objects, such as transparent beverage bottles, transparent films, glass, etc. Due to the high transmittance of these objects, ordinary photoelectric sensors are generally difficult to detect stably. Therefore, we need to find a sensor that can be used for transparent object detection.

IMS's E3TA-B photoelectric switch is a sensor designed specifically for transparent object detection, which is more reliable using IMS proprietary sensor ASICs. It can not only detect smooth and transparent bottles, but also stably detect textured bottles. Even if the bottle vibrates, rotates, or flips in the detection area, it will not cause false output. It has teach-in function, and the sensor can automatically adjust the detection distance by long pressing the button on the sensor for a few seconds. This is more convenient, fast, and accurate than conventional potentiometer adjustment. Meanwhile, one sensor can replace multiple fixed distance sensors, reducing the pressure of stocking.
