Automated marble and granite handling: enhanced efficiency, safety, and digital integration.

In modern marble and granite processing plants, slabs cut from blocks are placed on dedicated racks to be transported between different processing lines. Today, these lines are fully automated, not only in the processing phases but also in the loading and unloading of slabs.

The racks are identified using a QR code reading system.

To enhance process efficiency, ITALCARRELLI has developed a series of AGV self-propelled platforms specifically for the marble industry. These transporters have a 30-ton load capacity and a 300 mm low-profile platform, significantly reducing the racks’ height from the ground.

The AGV navigation system is based on laser technology, entirely developed by ITALCARRELLI, along with management software that integrates the machines with ERP systems and production lines. This allows automated mission generation without operator intervention.
