A MID-oriented three-phase LoRaWAN energy meter with RS485, Modbus, built-in magnetic latching relay, bidirectional metering and remote load control for commercial, residential and utility IoT applications.

Across Europe and many global markets, energy management is moving from manual reading and basic billing to connected metering, real-time data access and remote load control. Smart buildings, commercial complexes, residential distribution projects and distributed energy systems now require meters that can be integrated into cloud platforms and deployed without complex wiring.

This transition is supported by policy and market trends around smart grids, renewable energy integration and better access to energy data. For utilities, building owners and energy service providers, the challenge is no longer only to install meters, but to deploy metering systems that are scalable, practical and easy to integrate in both new-build and retrofit projects.

To meet this demand, IVY METERING introduces the EM514012 three-phase LoRaWAN energy meter. It is a three-phase four-wire electronic multi-functional DIN-rail meter designed for IoT-based energy monitoring and remote meter reading. The product supports LoRaWAN remote communication, RS485 local communication and Modbus protocol, helping users connect meters, gateways and energy management platforms more efficiently.

The EM514012 is designed for 3 x 230/400V networks with 0.25-5(100)A current input. It supports EU863-870 MHz LoRaWAN communication, Class B accuracy, 1000 imp/kWh pulse output, LCD display and a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C. These features make it suitable for commercial buildings, residential distribution, tenant sub-metering, light industrial facilities and utility IoT projects.

Beyond measurement, the EM514012 combines metering with control. It supports forward and reverse active/reactive energy measurement, as well as voltage, current, frequency, power factor and demand monitoring. The built-in magnetic latching relay enables remote load control via LoRaWAN and local relay setting via RS485, making the meter suitable for prepaid/postpaid billing, tenant management, rental properties and distributed facility operation.

The meter also supports overcurrent cut-off, alarm functions and event records for conditions such as recharge, overcurrent, overvoltage, frequency deviation, power outage, low balance/low energy and cover detection. These functions help operators improve traceability, reduce manual intervention and build a more reliable remote energy management system.

As energy systems become more distributed, digital and data-driven, smart meters are becoming operational nodes rather than passive measuring devices. With LoRaWAN, RS485, Modbus, bidirectional metering, relay control and prepaid/postpaid support, IVY METERING EM514012 provides a practical metering solution for the next stage of smart building and utility IoT deployment.
