From raw material to finished part

The image of the final part is often much more appealing: on one side, a sample of thick leather straight out of the cabinet; on the other, a part with geometric honeycomb cutouts, ready for assembly.

The image of the final part is often much more appealing: on one side, a sample of thick leather straight out of the cabinet; on the other, a part with geometric honeycomb cutouts, ready for assembly. But between these two stages lies a step that redefines standards.

Taming “capricious” materials

Flexible, fibrous, or textured materials are the bane of CNC machines. Unlike metal, these materials react unpredictably:

- The material “runs away” from the tool.
- The fibers fray if the cutting speed is not perfectly synchronized.
- On complex shapes such as honeycombs, conventional controllers multiply micro-pauses to calculate trajectories.

This can cause a production cycle to drag on, penalizing your profitability and your ability to respond to the market.

Since 1999, KMSYSTEM has drawn its strength from sectors where error is not permitted, such as the surfing industry, where the precision of curves determines hydrodynamic performance. We have transposed this requirement to modern industrial machining via two pillars:

Rather than following the trajectory, the machine anticipates each curve to maintain a constant feed speed. The machine no longer jerks; it “glides” over the material.

Speed is useless without stability. Our frames are designed to absorb the vibration frequencies generated by rapid acceleration. This rigidity ensures that the tool remains aligned, even during sudden changes of direction.

The verdict is clear: this acceleration does not compromise quality, quite the contrary. The absolute sharpness of each contour and the perfect regularity of the lines testify to the mastery of the process. For our customers, this means a threefold increase in production capacity with the same machine fleet.
