Notorious automotive group relies on OCA to boost production
The OCA teams were able to provide a unique solution to one of their clients in the automotive sector.
Beyond the economic climate, we know that the automotive industry requires strict specifications for optimal production. In order to maintain a profitable production process, the industry must demonstrate a high level of expertise and innovative technologies. OCA recently helped optimize facilities for a well-known multinational automotive group.
Outdatedness and lower productivity
A few months ago, an automotive group called on OCA to solve an incident. A recurring failure on the existing overhead conveyor was causing a decrease in production performance for this vehicle manufacturer. This global player expressed its desire to find a solution to limit these malfunctions, which in the long term were having a detrimental effect on its production.
OCA retrofit for maximum efficiency
After studying the existing systems, the OCA teams were able to provide a unique solution to our customer. Our company was then chosen to retrofit the existing overhead conveyor. The aim of the operation was to replace an old handling system by an overhead chain conveyor allowing the accumulation of parts in power & free type. The new OCA bi-rail conveyor can now handle a 60 kg load.
The OCA overhead handling system has also been completed with a maintenance platform. This addition provides our customer with more autonomy and ease of maintenance operations. The maintenance technicians now have secure access to the overhead conveyor.
This summer, the OCA conveyor was installed over 65 meters in the automotive production area in only two weeks. Today, the process created allows our customer to improve reliability and control its output while keeping its production flow on track.
