SIL-2 Redundant Vibration Guard according to EN 13849

PCH Engineering launches a compact redundant Vibration Guard to meet customer requirements for redundancy in their control system. For safety-related parts of a control system Functional Safety Guidelines state the need for redundancy and diagnostics in the structure. PCH 1290 is equipped with two independent System Failure and Alarm Relays as well as two 4-20 mA outputs (redundancy). The build-in 1002 D architecture will leave the alarm function fully operational although one of the two parallel measuring channels is at fault. An internal watchdog timer and self-test function for each of the two measuring channels complete the redundancy.

The PCH 1290 Redundant Vibration Guard can be used as a machine protection system for rotating machinery, as the actual vibration level is internally compared real-time to preset thresholds (alert and danger level). The response time for an alarm update can be set lower than 100 ms (according to API 670).

PCH Vibration Guard is often used for monitoring of blowers, ventilators, pumps, decanters, separators, compressors and mills. Installation is very easy and done by a single threaded mounting stud. PCH 1290 requires only connection of power supply +24 VDC, besides connection of relays and 4-20 mA outputs.
