The new EC-951 explosion-protected PTZ cameras have now been equipped with IR illuminators and optional video analysis technology. Applicable in zones 1, 2, 21, 22, they are an extremely useful control tool for detecting intruders in outdoor areas of refineries, chemical or pharmaceutical plants.
Video analytics can be programmed to flag any intruder who enters or remains in a particular area for longer than specified. Should this occur, the set alarm scenario is triggered in the control room and the PTZ camera and video management system automatically observe the intruder.
Video recording is started and security personnel are alerted. The camera keeps the moving target in the centre of the image and zooms in to facilitate detection - all in the interest of maximum plant security. R.
