Simple and fast integration of automation and IT equipment in Zone 2
The digitalisation of production areas in the process industry is advancing at an ever increasing pace. This also involves devices such as WiFi access points, gateways, RFID readers, media converters and many others.
These devices from the IT or OT sections of industry are frequently not suitable for installation in hazardous areas of the process industry.
For these cases, R. STAHL's 9851/5 enclosure system is the solution. When installed inside one of the four different sized enclosures, the devices are protected for operation in Zone 2 hazardous areas.
Solutions such as these are ready within a few weeks, because the combination of enclosure and device does not need to be re-certified. The enclosure system already has ATEX and IECEx certifications.
It consists of two parts - one for the encapsulation of the project-specific IT or OT device, and the other part for easy connection in the field. This design provides a high level of protection together with low maintenance. R. STAHL will carry out installation and testing of explosion protection.
The enclosures are made of glass fibre reinforced plastic that meets the requirements of both explosion protection and of rough ambient conditions. We also offer a wireless solution that works via integrated antennae.
The enclosure system kit has been expanded to include additional bushings for signals, power supply and the connection of external antennae.
In addition, R. STAHL offers solutions for hazardous areas Zone 1, 21 or 22.
