Raythink, a provider of advanced thermal imaging solutions, today announced the launch of the SI4 Series Panoramic Search and Tracking System. The new system integrates a panoramic thermal camera and a dual-spectrum speed dome camera into a single coaxial design, enabling continuous 360° perimeter monitoring and automatic day-and-night target tracking.

1. From 360° Detection to Precise Automatic Tracking
The SI4 Series features a two-tier integrated design, with a panoramic thermal camera on the upper module and a dual-spectrum speed dome camera on the lower module. The panoramic thermal camera provides continuous 360° perimeter monitoring, detecting people, vehicles, and other targets entering predefined protection zones. Once an intrusion is detected, the speed dome automatically turns toward the target and continuously tracks it, while its thermal and visible channels provide detailed imagery for closer target observation. This enables a seamless workflow from panoramic detection to automatic tracking and detailed target observation.
The panoramic thermal module produces panoramic images at a resolution of 13,440 × 512, enabling reliable wide-area detection day and night. The dual-spectrum speed dome combines a 640 × 512 thermal channel with a 4 MP visible channel and 40× optical zoom for detailed target observation. Unlike conventional perimeter security systems that deploy panoramic and PTZ cameras separately, the SI4 Series integrates both functions into a single system and automatically hands off detected targets to the speed dome, reducing the need for manual camera operation and enabling faster, more efficient threat response.

2. Coaxial Design for More Precise Target Handoff
The coaxial design is a key innovation that differentiates the SI4 Series from conventional panoramic and PTZ camera configurations.
In conventional systems, panoramic and PTZ cameras are typically installed separately. Differences in their mounting positions and viewing angles can result in target positioning errors when a detected target is handed off from the panoramic camera to the PTZ camera, affecting tracking accuracy.
The SI4 Series integrates the panoramic thermal camera and dual-spectrum speed dome in a coaxial architecture, minimizing positioning errors caused by different viewpoints. When a target is detected, the speed dome can rapidly turn toward the target and initiate tracking, with pan speeds of up to 200°/s and tilt speeds of up to 120°/s for fast and responsive target acquisition.
By aligning the two imaging systems within a single coaxial platform, SI4 enables a more accurate and seamless transition from panoramic detection to PTZ tracking, while also simplifying installation and reducing the complexity of multi-camera deployment and calibration.

3. Smarter and More Efficient Perimeter Security
The SI4 Series combines AI-powered target classification with customizable sector scanning to make perimeter monitoring more intelligent and efficient. AI algorithms help distinguish targets such as people and vehicles from other objects, allowing the system to focus on relevant targets and reduce unnecessary alarms.

For sites that do not require continuous 360° detection, the SI4 Series supports customizable sector scanning, allowing users to define the monitoring range according to specific security needs. A narrower scanning range also enables a higher effective video frame rate for smoother video and more responsive monitoring.
