C-TECH™ Biological Wastewater Treatment
Continuously fed SBR technology for efficient nutrient removal, compact plant design and reliable effluent quality
C-TECH™ is a continuously fed Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) technology for biological wastewater treatment, developed by SFC and Prof. Mervyn C. Goronszy.
The process integrates carbon oxidation, nitrification, denitrification, and biological phosphorus removal within a single reactor, without requiring a separate anoxic phase.
Through precisely controlled, short treatment cycles of only 2.4–4 hours, C-TECH™ achieves highly stable operation and outstanding nutrient removal.
Advanced automation optimizes aeration, minimizes sludge production, and ensures consistently high effluent quality, even under fluctuating hydraulic and organic loads.
The system operates at high MLSS concentrations in the bioreactor, enabling compact plant design and high treatment capacity within a reduced footprint.
Key advantages of C-TECH™:
No separate anoxic phase required
Short cycle time: 2.4–4 hours
No equalization tanks needed
High MLSS operation for compact design
Very low TSS in effluent (< 5 mg/L on average)
Reuse made simple due to excellent effluent quality
Energy-efficient aeration control
Low OPEX and reduced sludge yield
Scalable: from containerized plants (several hundred PE) to large-scale installations >400 MLD
With more than 1,500 references worldwide, C-TECH™ is a proven, high-performance solution for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment.
