C-ION™ Technology for Bulking Sludge Suppression in Wastewater Treatment
Proven full-scale application for stable bioreactor operation
In Wörgl, Austria, Berglandmilch operates a wastewater treatment plant designed for more than 30,000 population equivalents.
The plant had issues with bulking sludge in the bioreactor.
To solve this problem, two C-ION™ turbines were installed, one in each bioreactor.
Since then, no bulking sludge has occurred, with the SVI reduced from over 200 ml/g to 75 ml/g.
This project demonstrates the effectiveness of SFC Umwelttechnik GmbH’s C-ION™ technology (NTP) in addressing bulking sludge and contributes to stable and efficient plant operation.
