Precautions for drying apple
Delicious & non-discoloring dried apples.
Dried fruit is a popular snack that has a different taste than fresh fruit and can be stored for a long time. In the process of making dried fruits, the most important thing is to prevent them from discoloration. The following are the precautions for making.
Dehydrated Apple
Firstly, the sliced apples change color easily, so you can put the apple slices into the solution. The best solution is a mixture of lemon juice, pineapple juice and water. Pineapple juice is optional, but its sweetness offsets the tartness of the lemon juice. It can also help preserve the vitamin A and vitamin C in apples.
Secondly, sprinkle some seasoning over the slices. Some people like to sprinkle their apples with seasonings such as nutmeg, cinnamon, or allspice. These seasonings can make apple slices taste better, but they are just as delicious without seasoning.
Then, the apple slices are laid flat on the tray and don't overlap the apple slices or they will stick while drying.
Next, pushed them into the drying room. A large amount of moisture needs to be removed in the early stage and cannot be dried at high temperature. It takes 12 to 24 hours, depending on the thickness of the apple slices.
Finally, when drying is complete, you can touch the apples to determine whether they have reached drying requirements. Dried apple slices can be bent and not very crisp. Some people like their crispiness like fresh raisins.
